Intermediate Care Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled (ICF/DD)
provide active treatment, ongoing evaluation, planning, 24-hour
supervision, coordination, and integration of health or habilitative
services for persons who’s primary diagnosis is developmental
disability. These services occur in a protected residential setting
allowing each individual to function at his/her greatest ability.
Day program activities are also provided.
Active treatment is a major component of the ICF/DD program. It
means aggressive consistent implementation of a program of training
specific to the individual’s need. Treatment and health services are
provided to help maintain and promote general client independence.
Successful program participants learn daily living, self care and
leisure skills that help them toward a more independent life..JPG) |
